Asia Pulp & Paper Group (APP) of Indonesia is planning to set up a large paper mill in Ramaypatnam in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. The project involves setting up of a 5.0 million tpa of paper mill which will entail an investment of ₹ 2,45,000 million.
Land required for the project is identified and the state government is in the process of acquisition. The new plant will be producing packaging paper, specialty paper as well as writing and printing paper.
As of January 2019, the project is in planning stage. It may be noted that, this will be the largest FDI in the state once materialized.
