Grade 2 Kraft Paper is called semi kraft paper in India. Kraft paper is a sack paper produced through kraft process. It is made from bagasse, rice/wheat straw, grass, jute, a mixture of these along with sulphate pulp or from any other equivalent pulp. It will have high elasticity and tear resistant property suitable for packaging. Lignin present in wood result in reduced strength and kraft paper going through mechanical pulping removes much of the lignin resulting in improved strength. The paper is also darker and it can also bleached to make it white.
